Peillon is a perched village in Provence.

André Raffin received a craft training, he is self-taught in painting. He began exhibiting at the age of twenty, at the Salon d'Automne de Paris, and in groups in Normandy, as well as in other Parisian salons, those of the Indépendants and the Terres Latines. He was selected for many prizes, including the Prix de la Jeune Peinture in 1954, the Prix Othon Friesz in 1958, the Prix Fénéon in 1959.
Although he works in several regions of France, particularly in the South of France, he translates the towns, the countryside, and especially the coast of Normandy. He expresses himself in a fat, tactile, sensual, more often expressionist, thick paste...
